Newest works by David Gillingham include a Concerto for Viola, Cello and Orchestra. This double concerto was premiered on October 2, 2007, by the Central Michigan University Symphony Orchestra conducted by Carlton Woods. Soloists were CMU alumni, Holly Attar, viola, and the composer's daughter, Amy Gillingham, on cello. On December 7, 2007, Gillingham's "Symphony No. 2: Genesis" for band was premiered at Montclair State University by the Montclair State University Wind Ensemble conducted by Thomas McCauley.
